November 5 | Streams for Orff, Band and Diversity

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the second virtual Saskatchewan Music Conference (SMC).

We loved listening to all of the outstanding clinicians and music performances, as well as the teacher resources and popular Reading Session by Music Direct. And, of course, we were thrilled to visit with everyone during the Virtual Happy Hour sponsored by Long & McQuade Musical Instruments!

Special thanks to Conn-Selmer for providing tech support during the event and for sponsoring several clinicians, including our Keynote Address! And, thank you to SaskTel, SBA and Sask Orff Chapter for being our Stream Sponsors and to SOA, SCF and Empire Music for sponsoring sessions at the conference. We truly appreciate the support of our corporate partners and stakeholders!

All of the sessions and performances were recorded and will be available for streaming until DECEMBER 3, 2021. An updated conference program has been sent out to all attendees; please check you email inboxes and spam filters or contact SMEA if you didn't receive your copy.

We are excited to announce that the 2022 Saskatchewan Music Conference will be in-person at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in Downtown Saskatoon on November 4. The Keynote Address will be delivered by Ollie Tunmer, a drummer, percussionist and the director of ‘Beat Goes On’, a UK-based percussion workshop company specializing in STOMP-style body percussion and Afro-Brazilian percussion!

We hope that you enjoyed exploring SMC through a virtual lens, and we hope to see you all again next year!

SMC is proudly hosted by the Saskatchewan Music Educators Association. SMEA is part of the Professional Growth Network with the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, and this conference is part of SMEA's commitment to furthering professional development opportunities for teachers in the province.
